Lighting up a love of learning

Welcome to Berrow Primary Church Academy - We are part of The Priory Learning Trust

With picturesque scenery and a strong community, Berrow Primary Church Academy is a friendly, nurturing and loving school with big ambitions. As a Church academy, we sit at the heart of our local community and inspire our children through lighting up a love of learning.  We are a caring, inclusive family school with a strong Christian ethos where everyone is welcome.

We have the highest expectations of our learners through all aspects of school life and beyond. Understanding, acceptance and respect for others is fostered throughout our school and this is reflected through excellent learning and behaviour.

We have over 100 years of history and are situated in an incredibly stunning location, with a large playing field and on-site forest school facilities.

There is a great deal of information available to you on this website and via our social media platforms but the best way to get to know our school is to come and see us. Every day is an open day at Berrow so if you would like to come and visit, please get in touch. We look forward to meeting you.

Berrow Primary Church Academy

IMPORTANT UPDATE Good afternoon, We hope everyone has managed to stay safe during the heat over the past two days. At present, the Met Office Red Weather Warning comes to an end at midnight, reflecting the weather forecast which is for temperatures that are still high, but more like the start of the week than the middle of the week. Following guidance, Schools should therefore be able to safely be open, with adjustments in place as needed for each site to adapt, so effectively the same scenario as Monday/Tuesday. Berrow will be open tomorrow. We will continue to... - take break/lunch outside the front in the shade for much short periods of time. Children must wear a hat and stay hydrated - keep blinds shut and rooms ventilated the best we can - encourage children to drink plenty of fluid, wear a hat and sunscreen - encourage staff to take regular breaks, stay hydrated and work at a slower pace where necessary - remain vigilant of both staff and children making adaptations throughout the day to reduce overheating - teachers will make adaptations to the curriculum to ensure children are able to learn comfortably especially during the afternoon - allow relaxed uniform / PE kits There will be no celebration worship tomorrow to reduce the need for large numbers of people to be in the same place within close proximity. We will do a double celebration next week! We understand there will be a wide variety of views on this & hopefully everyone will respect that we are trying to balance education and safety as best we can. We hope children are looking forward to returning to school. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Miss Bradley
